Foreign Identity Card (TIE)
Once you have been granted a residence permit, the next step is to obtain the TIE, which is the document that certifies the legal status of a non-EU foreigner in Spain when their stay exceeds six months.
Obtaining this document is mandatory and must be done within a maximum period of one month from the entry into Spain, or from the moment the residence permit is granted or comes into effect, or, in the event of theft, loss, destruction or incapacitation of the card, from the moment this occurred.
The submission of the documentation for this procedure must be done in person by the interested foreigner, and for this, it is necessary to request an appointment at the corresponding police station. Under no circumstances can this process be carried out by representation through a power of attorney, as fingerprints of the interested party are collected in the procedure.
Minors must be accompanied by their legal representative, duly accredited and with original and valid identity documentation, or by the person appointed by them.

👍🏼 Resolution granting the authorisation that entitles you to reside in Spain.
Specific Requirements
📃 Certificate of municipal registration (empadronamiento), original and copy, if it is your first TIE or if there has been a change of address.
👮🏻 Police report, in case of theft or loss of the TIE and if you wish to request a duplicate.
♻️ Disabled or destroyed TIE, in case it is in poor condition and you wish to request a duplicate.
🏛️ Documentation certifying registration with Social Security, in the event that the granting and effectiveness of the authorisation is conditional on the worker being registered under the corresponding Social Security regime.
👥 The documentation certifying legal representation, in the event that the interested party is a minor or a person with judicially modified capacity.
